P.A.L.S. stands for Programs for All Lives, a year-long series of adapted programs created especially for customers with special needs
Adults of all abilities are welcome to join the Parma-Snow Branch Library to build technology skills! We will be adapting a traditional library technology class for individuals with special needs.
This class is meant to build confidence and encourage independence in using computers. Additional staff will be in the room for assistance and the pace and information covered will be adjusted as needed.
A technology instructor will teach and review functions and basic computer skills in our Technology Lab. We will review the basics about computers, including identifying hardware, using a mouse and keyboard and navigating the desktop environment. We will learn how to use web browsers and search engines to navigate the internet. We will also discuss how to stay safe while searching for and submitting information online. Additionally, we will practice specific skills such as playing a DVD on a computer, searching for videos on YouTube and navigating the library's website.
Caregivers are welcome to attend but do not need to register themselves.
The Parma-Snow Branch Library and Resource Room are both fully accessible and staff will be available to assist during the program.
Let us know if there's anything we can do to help you participate! Please email Kathleen at [email protected] with any questions or requests.
