Local author Phillip Skerry will discuss his new children's book "That Pesky S," which follows the adventures of middle schooler Jed Simon as he tries to solve the mysteries of the English Language.
Philip J. Skerry has written several books on film. That Pesky S is his first venture into children's literature. He was inspired to write the book by his 8th grade English teacher, Miss Robbins, and by his five grandchildren, whose curiosity, intelligence, humor, and love of reading provided him with the characters and story line. The book follows the adventures of Jed Simon, middle school “detective,” as he tries to solve English language grammar mysteries posed by his English teacher father. Readers learn along with Jed as he tracks down clues and learns about himself, his family, and friends.
