A new poetry open mic, moderated by the City of South Euclid's first Poet Laureate, "Doc" Janning.
Calling all poets! Join us for a new poetry open mic every second Sunday of the month. It's open to all poets, 18 and over. We'll follow a round-robin format, with a featured reader to begin. You may bring more than one poem to read.
Featured reader: E F Schraeder holds an interdisciplinary PhD emphasizing applied ethics and is the author of two poetry chapbooks, most recently, Chapter Eleven (Partisan Press). Dr. Schraeder's work has appeared in Birthing Monsters, Mobius: The Journal of Social Change, Mystery Weekly Magazine, The Feminist Wire, and other journals and anthologies. Current projects include a queer monster's coming of age novella and a full length manuscript of poems.
M.A. "Doc" Janning was sworn in as the City of South Euclid's inaugural Poet Laureate in October 2018. Doc grew up in East Cleveland and, after graduating from Western Reserve University and the Ohio College of Podiactric Medicine, became a Podiatrist. He's been active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years. He also writes fiction, memoir, and nonfiction. His Facebook page, "Tears of My Soul," has nearly 6000 followers worldwide.

The City of South Euclid will conduct a resurfacing project on South Green Road between Mayfield Road and Cedar Road that we anticipate will result in travel delays. The resurfacing project is expected to begin Monday, April 3, 2023, and continue through late fall. During that time, we encourage all visitors to the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library to plan accordingly and allow themselves ample travel time. The South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch will remain open for normal hours of operation during construction.
