In this 8-week class adults 55+ will learn the basics of jewelry making.
The teaching artist will lead students through jewelry design beginning with simple techniques and gradually using more complex ones with each session building on the next. Students will bring it all together by designing and hand-making their own wearable art that they get to take with them. Throughout the course students will have the opportunity to give and receive positive feedback on the designs and works in progress. The class will begin Saturday September 9 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will continue every Saturday at this time until October 28 2017. An end-of-class reception will be held on Saturday November 4 2017 at 2:00 p.m. where family friends and the general public can see the completed jewelry and hear about the students' experiences. Prerequisite: While the course is free students must be able to commit to the full 8-week course and the reception at the end to participate.
