Explore the rise and the fall and the spirit of a gritty city that clawed its way back featuring more than 200 photos and 65 lost landmarks from the 1800s to today. Author Laura DeMarco will take guests on a visual and oral tour through Clevelands glorious past and the ghosts that inspire us today. Lost places include architectural gems elegant theaters famous concert halls and stadiums grand department stores and bustling factories that helped turn Cleveland into Americas fifth biggest city and one of its most prosperous. Books will be available for purchase and signing following the program.

Grades 2-7 Create a pottery item that will be functional and food safe. Hands on Pottery will guide you through the process as you choose the piece you would like to paint plan your design and paint your piece. Wear clothes that can get dirty! Create a special gift or something for yourself. Your pottery will be fired and ready for pickup at the library in a week. Sponsored by the Friend of the Gates Mills Library. Registration is required.
