Kamal Abdul-Alim and The Real Thing Band present an afternoon of jazz music for your enjoyment. Originally from Cleveland Kamal is a composer and performer who works in the cross-pollinating idioms of Jazz and African Music. He studied at the Berkley School of Music in Boston and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. As a performer he has spent time in New York Paris California China and Japan. The Real Thing Band includes Kamal on trumpet Larry Hancock on drums Cecile Rucker on vibes Dan Myers on keyboards and Kevin Muhammed on bass. This program is funded by the Jazz Foundation of America and will include a short lecture as well as a concert. Registration preferred. Call 216-831-6868 for more details.
