James McBride, author, musician, and screenwriter, visits to discuss Deacon King Kong, his first novel since winning the National Book Award.

McBride is the author of Miracle at St. Anna, Song Yet Sung, the Anisfield-Wolf-winning memoir The Color of Water, and National Book Award-winning The Good Lord Bird. He is an alum of Oberlin College, and he is currently a Distinguished Writer in Residence at New York University.
