Join us on Zoom to talk about THE MAGICIAN'S ELEPHANT by Kate DiCamillo. Please plan on reading the book before February 4.
When ten-year-old orphan Peter Augustus Duchene encounters a fortune teller in the marketplace one day and she tells him that his sister, who is presumed dead, is in fact alive, he embarks on a remarkable series of adventures as he desperately tries to find her.
THE MAGICIAN'S ELEPHANT by Kate DiCamillo, and published by Candlewick Press, is 202 pages in length. If you wish to draw a picture of a scene from the book to share with fellow book lovers, please prepare that in advance.
This children's book discussion will be held virtually on Zoom (no download required). Registration and an email are required to receive the link to participate. A meeting link will be emailed to registered participants approximately one hour before the program starts. You will need a device and/or video and an internet connection to join. Staff will be available for help with connecting to Zoom and technical issues beginning 15 minutes before and throughout the duration of the program.
Please specify what grade you are in and your preferred branch location for material pick up when registering. A copy of the book will be sent to that branch and a staff member there will contact you when the book has arrived. Make sure to read the book before February 4 so we can all talk about it.
