About the author:
Karly West is an author and multi-media artist from Cleveland, Ohio. She holds a B.A. in language education, is an award-winning character sculptor, and satirizes obscure fairy tales for a living. Inspired by the surreal imagery of classic stop-motion films, Karly creates The Scholarly Banana's quirky illustrations with handmade figurines, random trinkets, and yard debris. It's as glamorous as it sounds.
Her comedic graphic novel series, The Scholarly Banana, retells old, creepy fairy tales and tricks you into learning fun facts about them! Join a playful, buck-toothed Banana for an irreverent deep-dive into history's most outrageous and fascinating stories. Each book showcases a single, classic tale and includes:
An imaginative parody performed by a cast of quirky, handmade sculptures!
Fun facts, shocking symbolism, and a traditional version of the story!
100+ sculptural illustrations made from clay, moss, and sticks!
