This event will be held in-person at the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch.
This is a fiction writing workshop that meets once a month for six months to explore the elements of craft and to learn to give, guide, and receive feedback on work in progress.
For the first two meetings, each writer will be invited to share short pieces of writing for discussion. For each of the following four months, three writers will submit up to 15 pages of fiction to be workshopped. (So participants must commit to reading and critiquing up to 45 pages per month.) Writers will be invited to help guide the agenda for feedback about their own work.
It's important to the workshop process that we create a community of writers who know and trust each other, so please commit to attending at least five of the six classes. Space is limited and registration is required.
Instructor Toni K. Thayer is a two-time recipient of an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award, once in playwriting and once in fiction. She holds an MFA in fiction from Goddard College. Her professional life has spanned feminist theater and writing and editing for an alternative newspaper to fundraising for women’s health and teaching English and creative writing.
