Explore how today’s trees link us to Cleveland’s past.
From 1946 to 1986, 273 Moses Cleaveland Trees of 23 species were designated as living descendants of the local prehistoric forest--"here when Gen. Cleaveland arrived in 1796." In 2021, all sites were inventoried. We found 70 trees standing and gained insight into which big tree species grew where in natural Cleveland. Join Dr. Larick to learn about these living landmarks and how, looking forward, the Moses Cleaveland Trees can help us grow a more natural urban canopy. Presented by Roy Larick, Bluestone Conservation.
