The American Drama Series is for theatre patrons, book readers and the curious who will read classic plays that have made an impact and focus on the universality of life and the common bond we share.
The American Drama Series is for theatre patrons, book readers and the curious within our community. Led by Karamu House former artistic director Terrence Spivey, participants will experience transformative potential of theatrical arts through readings and discussions on classic and contemporary plays that have influenced society and have shown the cultural differences, universality of life and the common bond we all share.
The plays to be discussed in this series are:
The Colored Museum by George C. Wolfe
The Shadow Box by Michael Christopher
Black Girl J.E. Franklin
Broke-Ology by Nathan Louis Jackson
Each participant will receive their own copy of the plays. Please pick up your copy of The Colored Museum at the Warrensville Heights Branch and read prior to the first class. Class size is limited. Registration is required.
