About the artists:
Richey, a former professional chef, got her first record deal at 37 and has garnered success as a songwriter, co-writing two number one hits: the Grammy-nominated “Believe Me Baby (I Lied)” for Trisha Yearwood and “Nobody Wins” for Radney Foster. Other songwriting contributions include songs for Dixie Chicks, Jim Lauderdale, Brooks & Dunn and Patty Loveless. Her vocals also appear on albums by Ryan Adams and Shawn Colvin.
Jones began her musical journey in her teens in Ohio. After being discovered by Liam Sternberg in the early 80s, she was signed to A&M records where she made three solo albums that helped define the trajectory of Americana. She became known for her stylish interpretations of songs by artful songwriters. She moved to RCA in 1990 but after a few more years of relentless touring, she opted to stay home and raise her daughter. Since then she’s made the occasional record, done the occasional tour, and has spent a lot of time painting, her first love.
