Speed Friending is a low key social event designed to help adults make new friends. Part of the North Olmsted Grownup Summer Camp series.
Based on the same model as speed dating, friend speed dating matches persons, without regard to gender and gives them 2 minutes to interact with suggested topics of discussion at hand to avoid awkward moments. After the two minutes are up, the pairs are switched up and the process repeats allowing guest to meet a maximum number of potential new friends in a short period of time. There will be trivia and/or activities available after the matching period for intermingling with new friends. This is an fun, engaging and low-key way to meet new people who you may want to spend time with.

In 1829, Charles Hyde Olmsted promised to donate 500 books from his father’s collection if the residents agreed to change the name of their town from Lenox to Olmsted. They did and the books traveled by oxcart and were housed in individual residents’ homes while being circulated. The “Oxcart Library” is thought to be the first circulating public library in the Western Reserve.
