Hearing loss increases with aging and the fact that it can put a strain on your brain and possibly impact your cognitive functioning supports the benefit of being proactive sooner rather than later. With a better understanding of the subtle signs to look for that often begin with decreased engagement, experts can recommend strategies appropriate to a person’s current needs, level of functioning and safety.
About the presenter
Kathryn Kilpatrick, MA, has 30 years' experience as a a speech–language pathologist in Ohio hospitals, rehabilitation centers and home health care. Currently, she is focusing on geriatric life enhancement consultation and educational programs on brain health and memory fitness to enhance older adults' quality of life.
A national motivational speaker and author of more than 35 workbooks, Kilpatrick has been a contributor to Northeast Ohio Boomer magazine with her brain games and memory tips since 2014. She recently began contributing a monthly blog on topics related to aging and life enhancement.
