Ray McNiece brings the legend of Johnny Appleseed to life during this lively interactive performance.

Wearing the legendary pot on his head, Ray brings John Chapman (better known as Johnny Appleseed) to life in a lively and believable presentation. Johnny leads participatory storytelling, songs and movement activities that describe his personal history, his life in pioneer Ohio, the distribution and importance of apples in frontier life, and the varieties and usage of apples in our own times.

About the branch

The Chagrin Falls Branch traces its roots all the way back to 1921, when a group of women formed the Chagrin Falls Memorial Association. After selling 44 shares of stock for $10 a piece, the women rented a room on the second floor of a building to support a library service. The branch joined the Cuyahoga County Public Library system in 1924.
