Participants will construct bridges out of LEGO capable of holding heavy weights. Learn the techniques behind the construction of real bridges to make sure yours stands strong and tall!

Truss, suspension, and arch: we rely on different types of bridges every day to transport us over difficult terrain. In this single-session program, participants will construct bridges out of LEGO capable of holding heavy weights. Learn the techniques behind the construction of real bridges to make sure yours stands strong. Will compression and tension be your friend--or foe? 

Caregiver participation is required. Please sign up each family under a single registration, as supplies are limited. Thank you!

Participants may be recorded and/or surveyed to capture program's effectiveness. More information can be found here.

About the branch

The Richmond Heights Branch is the only branch in the Cuyahoga County Public Library system co-located with a school. Opened in August 2021, the branch is connected to the Richmond Heights Upper School, but has its own dedicated entrance, allowing the general public to access the branch seven days a week.

This branch is a Student Success Center and Greater Cleveland Food Bank Kids Cafe location.
