Learn the art of appliqué needlework using our embroidery machine.
Appliqué refers to the process in which pieces of cloth or other decorative textiles are sewn onto another (often larger) fabric, creating a unique pattern. This process has been used for centuries to create beautiful banners, quilts, clothing, and other goods.
This class will focus on creating a fall-themed tea towel. Staff will demonstrate how to appliqué using the embroidery machine and provide participants with the materials to get started on their own personal tea towels. However, due to time constraints, participants will not be able to complete their towel from start to finish. Instead, they will be encouraged to return to the library and finish on their own time.
Registration is required.

The Fairview Park Branch originally operated out of a small storefront on Lorain Road. Today, the building is large enough to support a book capacity of 147,000 volumes. The branch also features a beautiful travel-themed children’s area complete with a miniature Eiffel Tower and airplanes, and an Innovation Center maker space.
