Celebrate the Parma Branch’s fifth anniversary with a visit from Elliot Ackerman, a National Book Award Finalist and author of Waiting for Eden.
Elliot Ackerman is the author of the novels Dark at the Crossing, which was a finalist for the National Book Award, and Green on Blue. His latest, Waiting for Eden, is a breathtakingly spare and shattering new novel that traces the intersection of three star-crossed lives. The book was selected as an Indie Next pick and has received starred reviews from Booklist, Kirkus, and Publishers Weekly, which called it “a deeply touching exploration of resentment, longing, and loss.”
Ackerman’s writings have appeared in Esquire, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and The New York Times Magazine, among other publications, and his stories have been included in The Best American Short Stories and The Best American Travel Writing. He is both a former White House Fellow and Marine, and served five tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he received the Silver Star, the Bronze Star for Valor, and the Purple Heart.
Books will be available for purchase and signing courtesy of Mac's Backs - Books on Coventry.
