Join one of our Emergency Safety Fair where our experts from Southwest General will teach you the essential life-saving skills you need to respond confidently to an emergency.
Life-threatening emergencies—such as heart attack, severe bleeding, overdose, choking and more—happen every day. Knowing how to respond until professional help arrives can mean the difference between life and death. Join our Emergency Safety Fair sponsored by Southwest General Hospital where experts will teach you the essential life-saving skills you need to respond confidently to:
• Allergic reactions – learn to use an Epi-pen
• Bleeding – learn tourniquet application for severe bleeding
• Cardiac emergencies – learn to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) and perform
hands- only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for cardiac arrest (not for certification purposes)
• Choking – learn how to do abdominal thrusts (Heimlich maneuver)
• Fire – learn what to do in the event of _re and how to get out safely
• Overdose – learn how to administer Narcan
