Create your own decorative lantern with custom panels using the library's UV printer. This is a two-part event.
Attendees will learn the basics of UV printing. We start by importing your favorite photos, illustrations, or book quotes into Adobe Illustrator. These graphics will be saved onto flash drives. We will then demonstrate how to print your chosen graphics onto vellum paper. Attendees are free to leave after the demonstration. Over the next week leading up to Part 2, librarians will print everyone's panels.
Attendees will learn how to cut their vellum panels using the Cricut. The vellum panels will then be adhered to the wooden lantern panel inserts and attendees can start assembling their lantern. Everyone will leave the program with a how-to instruction manual and LED tealight.

The Fairview Park Branch originally operated out of a small storefront on Lorain Road. Today, the building is large enough to support a book capacity of 147,000 volumes. The branch also features a beautiful travel-themed children’s area complete with a miniature Eiffel Tower and airplanes, and an Innovation Center maker space.
