In this workshop, you will learn the basics of longform improv. We will work on active listening, relationship building exercises and developing a distinct point of view on stage. Solidify these translatable skills into any other performance medium including but not limited to stand-up comedy, theater, public speaking and corporate events.

Jo Rou is an actor, writer, improviser and filmmaker focusing on offbeat, subversive and heartfelt characters. A trained writer and performer through the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre New York, she has written and starred in videos that have been featured on CollegeHumor, Funny or Die, Huffpost, Glamour and E! Online. She has also worked for The Onion, Saturday Night Live and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

About the branch

The Chagrin Falls Branch traces its roots all the way back to 1921, when a group of women formed the Chagrin Falls Memorial Association. After selling 44 shares of stock for $10 a piece, the women rented a room on the second floor of a building to support a library service. The branch joined the Cuyahoga County Public Library system in 1924.
