Join us for an event for book lovers! We will talk books with James Mustich, author of 1,000 Books to Read Before You Die, the compulsively readable, entertaining and surprising book that celebrates the greatest books of all time, from Harold and the Purple Crayon to the works of Shakespeare to sci-fi classics like Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? There’s something for every reader.
Each of our five combatants will advocate for their favorite books, vying for the hearts and minds of the audience members. Attendees will then vote to name the champion!
Our literary gladiators are best-selling author Regina Brett; Rick Jackson, host of Ideas on WVIZ/PBS; Brad Ricca, author of Super Boys and Mrs. Sherlock Holmes; Reverend Dr. Leah Lewis, minister, former councilwoman, and activist; and Rosa Ransom of Mac's Backs - Books on Coventry.
A few lucky audience members will even have the chance to win book-themed door prizes!

James Mustich began his career in book-selling at an independent book store in Briarcliff Manor, New York, in the early 1980s. In 1986, he co-founded the acclaimed book catalog, A Common Reader, and was for two decades its guiding force. His book, 1,000 Books to Read Before You Die, was fourteen years in the making. It is the fifth book in the 1,000 … Before You Die series that has over 4.4 million copies in print.
