Through poetry and poem-making, explore what trees can teach us.
In this day-long poetry retreat, we will explore our relationship with trees. We will slow down to listen to what they can teach us. To make this journey, we will use poetry and poem-making to express and describe this relationship with ourselves, one another, and as stewards of the planet. This retreat welcomes both experienced writers and anyone who would like to reclaim their right to words.
Please bring a poem or story about a single tree, a forest, an orchard, or a grove of trees, that has made a difference in your life, somehow changed how you see yourself, the world, or the cosmos. This poem can be yours or be written by someone else. You’re also invited to bring a photograph of a tree.
Pizza lunch will be provided, courtesy of the Friends of the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch. You may also bring a brown bag lunch.

The City of South Euclid will conduct a resurfacing project on South Green Road between Mayfield Road and Cedar Road that we anticipate will result in travel delays. The resurfacing project is expected to begin Monday, April 3, 2023, and continue through late fall. During that time, we encourage all visitors to the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library to plan accordingly and allow themselves ample travel time. The South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch will remain open for normal hours of operation during construction.
