Part one of this two-part program begins with an introduction to basic operation and design using the V-Carve software and Shopbot CNC machine in the Parma-Snow’s Innovation Center.
After part one of this program, the profile cut of your sign will be cut by library staff. Staff will bring the sign to part two so you can learn how to laser engrave a design on it at the Garfield Heights Innovation Center on October 3rd.
When you register for part one, you will be automatically registered for the second part at the Garfield Heights Branch. No need to call or visit Garfield Heights event page.
CNC stands for computer numerical control. The Shopbot relies upon carefully programmed software, V-Carve Pro, to control its movement to cut wood or acrylic.
Participants must complete a Release and Hold Harmless form.
Participants may be recorded and/or surveyed to capture the program's effectiveness.
Recommended prerequisite: Computer Basics or experience using a mouse.
All classes start promptly! We cannot hold seats for students who arrive late.
