Award-winning author Margaret McMullan visits to discuss her new memoir, Where the Angels Lived, which details her journey to discover her Jewish Hungarian ancestry.
Margaret McMullan is the author of eight award-winning books including the novel, In My Mother’s House, the story collection Aftermath Lounge, and the anthology, Every Father’s Daughter, a collection of essays about fathers by great women writers such as Alice Munro, Ann Hood, and Jane Smiley. McMullan’s young adult novels How I Found the Strong, When I Crossed No-Bob, and Sources of Light have received best book awards from Parents’ Choice, School Library Journal, the American Library Association, and Booklist among many other educational organizations.
In McMullan's latest memoir, Where the Angels Lived, she writes about discovering a long-lost relative and her subsequent travels and research to unearth the history of her Jewish Hungarian ancestors in the years leading up to the Holocaust.
