Participants will build catapults and launch objects to determine design characteristics that produce the most effective launch.
Build better catapult! This fun design and engineering project will have participants build catapults out of various supplies such as popsicle sticks and rubber bands. After constructing a catapult, students will use their designs to shoot small objects and answer inquiry-based questions. Making simple adjustments to their construction they will see how even small modifications to design will effect launch.
