A workshop for writers of memoir, biography and personal essays.
Ever wonder if your prose was missing something? As memoirist and poet Vivian Gornick suggests, story creation in nonfiction writing does surround the “situation and the story," but it also involves investigating the causes and consequences of the inciting event which prompted you to write. Do not fear: in this workshop--which can help those at any level writing memoir, biography or personal essays--we will delve into a discussion of the craft by looking at examples and take a sidestep to practice what we have learned in writing exercises.
Charlotte Morgan teaches First Year Writing at Cleveland State University. She is a nonfiction writer, photographer, and former music journalist.
