A fiction writing workshop for writers with previous workshop experience.
This is a fiction writing workshop which meets once a month for six months to give and receive feedback on participants’ short stories and novel chapters. Each month, two writers submit up to 20 pages of fiction to be workshopped, so participants must commit to reading and critiquing up to 40 pages for each meeting. Everyone will take part in the critiques and learn how to discuss the process of writing and rewriting fiction.
It’s important to the workshop process that we create a community of writers who know and trust each other so please commit to attending at least five of the six classes. Space is limited and registration, including a working email, is required.
Recommended prior experience:
Six months or more of workshop experience OR
Completion of the six-week “Fiction Writer’s Toolbox” series, which is offered every fall and spring.
Instructor Sarah Willis was a 2014 Creative Workforce Fellow and has published four novels. Her first, Some Things That Stay, was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, won a Cleveland Arts Prize, and was made into a movie.
