Jess Walter is the author of six novels, including the bestsellers Beautiful Ruins and The Financial Lives of the Poets, the National Book Award finalist The Zero, and Citizen Vince, the winner of the Edgar Award for best novel. His short fiction has appeared in Harper's, McSweeney's, and Playboy, as well as The Best American Short Stories and The Best American Nonrequired Reading. 

The Cold Millions, his latest novel, is an intimate story of brotherhood, love, sacrifice and betrayal set against the panoramic backdrop of an early twentieth-century century America that eerily echoes our own time. Featuring an unforgettable cast of cops and tramps, suffragists and socialists, madams and murderers, it is a powerful and moving tour de force from a “writer who has planted himself firmly in the first rank of American authors” (Boston Globe).

Event Details:

Each ticket includes a copy of The Cold Millions and access to the virtual program for one viewer.

There are three ticket types for this event:

Local pickup – $25 – Pick up your book locally at Mac’s Backs – Books on Coventry or the Cuyahoga County Public Library branch of your choice. Select your desired pickup location at registration. Registrants who choose this option will be emailed after the program date with information on when their book will be available for pickup.

U.S. shipping – $30 – Your book will be mailed to the U.S. shipping address provided at registration. Books will begin shipping after the program and should arrive 7 to 10 days after the event date.

International shipping – $70 – Your book will be mailed to the international shipping address provided at registration. Books will begin shipping after the program and should arrive 7 to 21 days after the event date.

The virtual event link will be emailed to all ticket holders 24 hours in advance of the program.
