This event will be held virtually on Zoom.
Led by a Board-Certified Music Therapist and Music Therapy Intern from Beyond Words, this music and movement class provides an initial assist using melodic and rhythmic strategies, followed by fading of musical cues to aid in generalization and transfer of skills to other environments.
Classes focus on imitation of gross motor movements, following embedded musical directions, taking turns, expressive communication and making choices in a virtual setting. Interventions are designed and developed to meet the students’ needs, but are not limited to simple songwriting, singing and dancing.
A meeting link will be emailed to registered participants approximately one hour prior to the start of the program. Staff will be available for help with connecting to Zoom and technical issues beginning 15 minutes prior to the program. You will need a device with audio and/or video and an internet connection to join.
If you have questions about this program, please contact the Youth staff at the Warrensville Heights Branch at (216) 464-5280.
