Grab your movie candy and get ready for Fritz Lang's M (1931), a German thriller starring Peter Lorre. Our discussion of the film will be held virtually using Zoom.

"A simple, haunting musical phrase whistled offscreen tells us that a young girl will be killed. "Who Is the Murderer?" pleads a nearby placard as serial killer Hans Beckert (Peter Lorre) closes in on little Elsie Beckmann...  In his harrowing masterwork, Fritz Lang merges trenchant social commentary with chilling suspense, creating a panorama of private madness and public hysteria that to this day remains the blueprint for the psychological thriller."

As Fritz Lang's first sound film, was voted Best German Film of All Time by the Association of German Cinémathèques.

Be sure to watch the film before attending the program. You can access the film using our Kanopy streaming service available for FREE with your library card. If you do not have a library card, you can visit our website HERE or call your local Cuyahoga County Library branch for assistance.
