Finding and shaping your life story
This hands-on workshop is for writers interested in pulling the pieces of their life story into a coherent whole. In this full-day session we will discuss the structure of book-length memoir and key features of this genre, including finding your theme/central questions, internal and external conflict, voice in memoir, telling the truth, writing about family, and other relevant topics. We will do short writing exercises in class and review short excerpts from several published memoirs. Please bring a brief, one- or two-paragraph description of your project to share with the class.
There will be a one-hour lunch break. You may bring a brown bag lunch to eat at the library or leave the library to get lunch.

The City of South Euclid will conduct a resurfacing project on South Green Road between Mayfield Road and Cedar Road that we anticipate will result in travel delays. The resurfacing project is expected to begin Monday, April 3, 2023, and continue through late fall. During that time, we encourage all visitors to the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library to plan accordingly and allow themselves ample travel time. The South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch will remain open for normal hours of operation during construction.
