Join NPS Ranger Jackie Teare and actors for a historical reenactment that explores the stories behind the flood that devastated the state of Ohio and ensured the demise of the Ohio & Erie Canal. 

In 1913, everyone was caught off guard by the amount of rain that fell, 7 – 11 inches.  3 months’ worth of rain in 5 days. The same amount of water that flows over Niagara Falls in a month blanketed the state of Ohio. There was not one stream, creek, or river that didn’t overflow its banks. The result would be known as the Flood of 1913. Join NPS Ranger Jackie Teare and actors for a historical reenactment that explores the stories behind the flood that devastated the state of Ohio and ensured the demise of the Ohio & Erie Canal.
