This event will be held virtually on Zoom. Learn about the deep cultural heritage contained within these special places of worship, the preservation work being done today & their remarkable stories.
Across Cleveland many historic sacred structures were constructed as synagogues by Jewish congregations that are now home to Black churches of various Christian faiths. Each of these places had made history whether for their significant architectural contribution or role in the Civil Rights movement.
Margaret Lann, Director of Preservation Services & Cleveland Restoration Society will present virtually.
A meeting link will be emailed to registered participants approximately one hour prior to the start of the program. Staff will be available for help connecting to Zoom and technical issues beginning 15 minutes prior to the program. You will need a device with audio and/or video and an internet connection to join.
