The fields, woods and streams of Northeast Ohio promise no dearth of inspiration and adventure for outdoor enthusiasts. Few know this so well as Ohio native and award-winning author Dr. Andrew J. Pegman, who will discuss his journey to land trophy fish, reflect on ones that got away and embrace the beauty and freedom of the outdoors. Gain expert tips on adventure fishing, flyfishing for walleyes on Lake Erie and steelhead trout in the Chagrin River, and searching for elusive winter birds. Dr. Pegman will be available to sign copies of his book Outdoor Tales of Northeast Ohio after the discussion.
Dr. Pegman is a professor of English at Cuyahoga Community College. His teaching and contributions in the classroom earned him the Distinguished Faculty Award from the American Association of Community Colleges. The Gates Mills Branch became a part of the Cuyahoga County Public Library system in 1948. At the time, the branch operated out of the Southwick House, a former residence that was converted into a historic site. The branch’s current home is a 3,500-square-foot building that is the cornerstone of the Gates Mills downtown revitalization.
