Local author and historian Tom Matowitz, Jr discusses the history of the Cleveland Police Department

Tom Matowitz, Jr, grandson of George Matowitz, Cleveland Police Department Chief from 1931-1951, grew up steeped in the department’s history. Matowitz takes us back to the beginnings of the department, discusses some early police scenes and investigations, and highlights when and where the department was housed over the years. Author of several titles in the Arcadia Publishing “Images of America: Ohio Series”, Matowitz shares his knowledge and love of the department as it progressed and changed throughout its history.
