Ohio's political and military importance to the Union's Civil War victory are widely known, but often less understood is the vital contribution made by Ohio's female population. History professor Kelly Mezurek puts on display the important wartime roles women played on the home front, including participating in Soldiers Aid Societies and Sanitary Fairs in Cleveland and Cincinnati.
