A new poetry open mic, moderated by the City of South Euclid's first Poet Laureate, "Doc" Janning.
Calling all poets! Join us for a new poetry open mic every second Sunday of the month. It's open to all poets, 18 and over. We'll follow a round-robin format, with a featured reader to begin. You may bring more than one poem to read.
Featured reader:
Born in Michigan into a proud Mexican-American heritage, Will “Topiltzin” Sanchez emerged from some difficult times about eighteen years ago to become a well-known artist, poet, and to be a journalist for a local Hispanic newspaper, Vocero Latino. He is also a contributor to CAN Journal. He was recently chosen as one of 25 Cleveland City Champions by the Guardian (UK) and the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He was also named one of Cleveland Magazine’s Most Interesting People for 2019. In 2002, he was a founder of the first Latino-owned and managed art gallery in the greater Cleveland area, La Cosecha Galleria (literally translated, The Harvest Gallery).
M.A. "Doc" Janning was sworn in as the City of South Euclid's inaugural Poet Laureate in October 2018.
