All-day poetry writing retreat with John Fox, poet and certified poetry therapist.
Poetry often reveals what you did not know you knew before you wrote or read the poem. This moment of surprising yourself with your own words or of being surprised by the poems of others is at the heart of poetry as epiphany. This experience of creative insight encourages you to recognize in yourself a deeper, more resonant voice that has been discouraged, hidden away, or perhaps is yet to be discovered. This all-day poetry writing retreat is limited to 25 participants. Hot drinks and pizza lunch will be provided courtesy of the Friends of South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch. You are welcome to brown bag your lunch and bring drinks and snacks. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
There is also a 90-minute poetry talk on Friday evening January 5. Saturday participants are encouraged to attend the Friday evening program too. Please register for the Friday program separately by clicking here.

His work is featured in the PBS documentary Healing Words: Poetry and Medicine (2008).
