A poetry open mic, moderated by the City of South Euclid's first Poet Laureate, "Doc" Janning.
Calling all poets! Join us for a poetry open mic every second Sunday of the month. It's open to all poets, 18 and over. We'll follow a round-robin format, with a featured reader to begin. You may bring more than one poem to read.

Mimi Plevin-Foust has worn many hats in addition to her lifelong commitment to writing. She has worked as a glass artist, bartender, documentary film producer, and career consultant. Her poetry, screenplays and articles have been published by Carve Magazine, LearnVest/Forbes.com, Fourteen Hills, POZ Magazine, Sanskrit Literary-Arts Magazine, SCRIPT and more. Mimi received an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from NYU and recently won the Gordon Square Review Poetry Contest. She’s produced or associate produced documentaries aired on PBS, screened at film festivals, and distributed nationwide. She shares a 105-year-old home in Cleveland with assorted Airbnb guests as well as her husband, daughter, and cats.
M.A. "Doc" Janning was sworn in as the City of South Euclid's inaugural Poet Laureate in October 2018. Doc grew up in East Cleveland and, after graduating from Western Reserve University and the Ohio College of Podiactric Medicine, became a Podiatrist. He's been active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years. He also writes fiction, memoir, and nonfiction. His Facebook page, "Tears of My Soul," has nearly 6000 followers worldwide.
